Absolutely everyone’s welcome to join us for worship: 10:45AM Sundays 1231 Wirt Road, Houston TX 77080
Jesus is risen… Now what?
Does the resurrection matter for daily life? What does it mean that Jesus – executed now risen – is present with us today? Join us next Sunday as we enter the book of Acts for inspiration on walking in the resurrection! Paul says in Romans, “the same Spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you! Consider yourselves dead to sin, able to live for the glory of God through Christ Jesus!” More than a historical fact, the resurrection of Christ empowers each of us to live the abundant life God intends.
From Easter through Pentecost we’re exploring the book of Acts for transformative signs of why Jesus’ resurrection matters for daily life. Join us this Sunday! During the week we’re memorizing Romans 6:1-11 and praying the following daily prayer exercize.
May peace and joy arise in you!
Prayer Guide
1. Centering Prayer
Good morning/afternoon/evening God.
We are amazed that you choose to be present with us today.
We don’t deserve your companionship.
Yet you embrace us as your beloved children, for your mercy is bigger than our weaknesses and failure.
We are thrilled and thankful you are with us. Without you, life would be meaningless and lonely.
We welcome you as our constant guest of honor.
We welcome you to join us throughout this day at home, at work, at school, at play because your presence enriches the things we care about.
We welcome you into our relationships because we want others to know your presence with them.
We welcome you into our moments of decision today because you are the source of wisdom.
You are welcome to use our time, our energy, our talents and our possessions for your purposes in the world.

4. Scripture Memory: Romans 6:1-11, 8:11
Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.
Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus. Romans 6:1-11
The same Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. Romans 8:11 (NLT)
5. Silence for mission and intercessory prayers
6. Commissioning
